Academic coaching involves helping students develop healthy systems, habits, and motivation for academics and life goals. This is achieved through partnership with the student’s input to establish ownership and a sense of responsibility. Academic coaching is not counseling. Our coaches focus on building awareness. This means helping students acknowledge weaknesses while building on strengths. A coach motivates, encourages, and draws out what the student already has at their disposal. We will also train students in foundational life skills and give them the basic tools to manage their learning and growing responsibilities.

Over the last decade, we realized that while this sounds helpful it also feels intangible and ambiguous. To help make Academic Coaching more tangible and practical we have created a line of products to help parents and students see exactly what types of skills and tools we will focus on. Our Academic Coaching framework is integrated into all the tutoring services we provide. However, if you want a more focused Academic Coaching speak with our team about adding Thrive Products to your sessions. Our workbooks provide a great curriculum for a summer boost between academic cycles. Here is an introduction video explaining our Products, you can click below to learn more.
